Animal welfare groups will sue BP for the impact of its 'controlled burning' around the oil spill, which is killing endangered sea turtles. The Animal Welfare Institute (AWI), Centre for Biological Diversity, Turtle Island Restoration Network and Animal Legal Defence Fund have petitioned the US court to stop such 'controlled burns' on the Gulf of Mexico spill.
