YachtWorld.com, the world’s largest internet brokerage portal, is expanding its global operation with the opening of a new office in Newport, close to Sydney Harbour, to provide closer and dedicated online marketing support to yacht brokers and dealers across Australia, New Zealand and throughout the Asia Pacific marketplace.

Yachtworld offers over 116,000 brokerage boats for sale worldwide, represented by over 2,400 yacht brokerage houses and 10,000 individual yacht broker clients, in 143 countries. Founded in 1995, YachtWorld.com provides a complete suite of online marketing services for its yacht broker members through a range of proprietary software tools.

YachtWorld has dedicated portals in 13 countries, and attracts a total of 2.6 million visitors every month. In 2012, boats worth more than €4,209,132,424 (AUS$5,211,805,627) were sold as a direct result of being advertised on YachtWorld.com.

The Australian market specifically has seen significant growth over the past 12 months, with YachtWorld’s dedicated Australian website’s (au.yachtworld.com) monthly unique visitors increasing by 10% compared to the previous year. In addition, web traffic sourced from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific has steadily grown over a 12 month period, demonstrating sustained growth in the boat buying market in these locations.

There are more than 800,000 registered boats in Australia and many more non-registered boats and watercraft. Boat licence holders currently sit at over 1 million nationally and it is estimated that over 3 million people regularly engage in boating and fishing every year. Boating is one of Australia’s most popular pastimes. Similarly in New Zealand, it is currently estimated that there are 425,000 registered boats making it the highest boat owning nation per capita in the world.

Sue Milne, General Manager of YachtWorld International commented: 'We are continuing to increase our online
brand awareness and reinforce YachtWorld as the marketing partner of choice for yacht brokers across the globe. Extending our operation to Australia is a significant development – there is an evident opportunity in this market reflected in the continuous increase in our website traffic. With the addition of the Australian office, we have the means to capitalise on this growth and increase visibility for yacht brokers and dealers in this region.'
