Wes Moxey, CEO at Riviera, has handed the baton to John Anderson, deciding the time is right – following the launch of his 'big dream', the Riviera 70 at SIBS two weeks ago and off the back of extremely successful shows which have amassed $73m in revenue.

Wishing to leave on a high note, following 26 years in the company, Moxey anticipates spending more time with family. Joining Riviera as a shipwright in 1982, Wes was promoted to Production Manager in 1987, then to Managing Director in 1998, before leading the management buyout in October 2002.

He led the company’s transformation from a wholesale luxury boat manufacturer with annual turnover of $135 million to a customer-focused manufacturer and retail business with annual revenues exceeding $350 million. Wes joined the Riviera board in October 2002.

His successor, John Anderson, has been with Riviera for just on 18 months.

Anderson has a 24-year career in the boating industry, beginning in the US with Sea Ray as sport yacht sales co-ordinator. He rose to become Vice-President of Sales and Senior Vice-President of marketing.

In 1997, he was appointed President of the Four Winns boat building company. After a take-over by marine industry giant Genmar in 2000, he more than doubled Four Winns’ revenues and boosted production to more than 7,000 boats over the next five years. He resigned in 2006.

In January 2007, Anderson came to Australia and in March 2007, joined Riviera as Director of Operations.
