The New Horizon EP110: built for the ocean adventurer
|
Explore the beauty of the deep blue sea with the long-range Horizon EP110, the perfect expedition yacht for the ocean adventurer. Following the launch of the EP148, Asia’s largest steel-hulled explorer, Horizon has developed another brand-new expedition yacht: the Horizon EP110. The solid yet stylish EP110 has a semi-displacement steel hull with a bulbous bow and fiberglass superstructure -- while she is the second steel-hull Horizon, she is the first one with a composite superstructure. Horizon collaborated with well-known American megayacht designer JC Espinosa on the exterior styling of the yacht; Russian Marine Technology Department on the basic structure; and German Schannse Interior Design for the interior décor. The Horizon in-house design team integrated each design component and improved upon all construction details to build this first EP110. Combining a streamline monohull with twin MAN 2842 LE410 engines, the EP110 reaches a top speed of 13 knots and a range of up to 3000 nautical miles at 10 knots. To ensure the safety and stability of the vessel, the EP110 is built with BV classification, and for easy maneuvering features double rudders and ABT thrusters. The ABT stabilizer fin has a zero-speed function that allows for stability and smooth movement when under larger seas. The Horizon EP110 features a multi-functional yet luxurious five stateroom layout, with additional crew’s quarters for six – there is also the option to convert a guest stateroom into a fitness room if desired. The full-beam salon offers a large area for entertaining and opens to the forward dining area with seating for ten guests. Also on the main deck is the full-beam master stateroom which is designed with privacy in mind and includes a master head complete with a shower room. Below deck, the guest staterooms are decorated with Makore satin wood and lacquered high-gloss ceiling panels throughout, and they each incorporate an en-suite head for guests comfort. On the bridge deck, the enclosed skylounge is equipped with a full bar, dayhead, seating area and pilothouse with helm – the aft bridge deck also offers space for relaxing outdoors. Up top, the flybridge is ideal for enjoying the boat when underway, offering a Jacuzzi, large settee, all-in-one wet bar and deck space for sunbathing. When water sports are on the agenda, the main deck bow davit can be easily accessed to lift the tender or jet skis into the water. With interior décor and the exterior paintwork underway, the EP110 has an expected launch date of August 2012 and will be available for sea trials later in September. We invite you to contact Horizon to learn more about the unrivaled quality and luxury of the new steel-hull EP110. More at www.hmya.com.au
