Moody 54 Deck Saloon, the New World Cruiser
|
Plans for the Moody 54 Deck Saloon have been released presenting a world class cruising yacht offering one level, luxury living. The successful 45 DS and flagship 62 DS inspired designers Judel/Vrolijk and Dixon Yacht Design to develop a cruising yacht incorporating the innovative Deck Saloons' best features into a 54 footer. The unique concept offers 'one level living' between the cockpit and saloon, an appealing lifestyle for sailors traveling long passages or living aboard for extended periods. The single level provides open-plan, spacious accommodation including a lounge and coffee table separate from the dining and galley area. The saloon features panoramic windows for clear viewing when standing or seated and 3 skylight hatches. A sliding door and window from the cockpit to saloon unite the inside and outside areas. Owners have a choice of layouts including upstairs or downstairs galley, skipper cabin in bow and the option of two very large suites. The deck saloon design increases the interior by 125% giving equal space compared to other 65 foot yachts. There are two exterior helm positions with clear views over and through the deck saloon with all lines to the helms position and two electric winches for easy short handed sailing. Some noteworthy options include double head-sails with electric furlers, and bow and stern thrusters for easy manoeuvring. An optional third engine control can also be added to the navigation table inside. Seaworthy attributes include solid bulwark with fixed stainless steel rail, large fuel and water tanks, sheltered cockpit with large coamings and security glass in windows.
