This week, along with comments from the industry’s leading brands, dealers and retails about their results at SIBS, the news is all about change, people moving on, into new roles and out of the industry. At Grow Boating, CEO James Wilson has moved on, Paul Phelan, David Hazlett (treasurer), Wesley Moxey, John Temple and Greg Haines have resigned and replacing them as directors are David Heyes (BRP Australia), George Bolton (BIA SA) and Gordon Howlett (BIA Victoria). At Riviera, CEO Wes Moxey, who has been at the helm since 2002 and with the company since 1982, has decided to leave on a high note, following the launch to much acclaim and apparent market success of the Riviera 70 at SIBS, handing over to John Anderson. The BIA NSW Manufacturers Division held its first meeting at SIBS. Alan Steber, Chairman and Alan Barrett, Secretary, tell us some of the preliminary discussions, aims and parameters for the organization. There’s also plenty of news of company expansion, new products, Abu Dhabi (the world’s richest city) hosting the inaugural Emirates Boat Show International 25-29 November, and an initiative to attract more young people to the marine industry. Please keep the feedback and news rolling in.
