Another week, and the count down to another several boat shows around the world – from Phuket to SIBS and BIBS.

In this week’s issue of Marine Business News, you’ll find a wrap up of Melbourne, previews of products launching at SIBS, what to expect at BIBS and why consider exhibiting at PIMEX, held in December at the Royal Phuket Marina.

News from the frontline, we hear from Ian Tricker from TR Marine World, last year’s National Quintrex dealer of the year with what is arguably one of NSW’s best retail set up. He shares his insight into the state of the industry, customer behaviour, how to trim overheads, some advice for manufacturers and the BIAs, as well as the importance of fielding your company’s best team at a Boat Show.

There’s also news of Azzura Marine’s expansion in Newcastle, aiming to position the Carrington facilities as a new force in superyacht maintenance and construction, and the official line from NSW Maritime concerning the eviction of the historic lighthouse tender, MV Cape Don – a story which has already elicited strident response from members of the restoration team and her former crew.

On the marine media scene, the Internet continues to be the place where all the growth is happening.

With our Sail-World Olympic newsletters about to spring into action, we will be sending more than a million, yes that is 1,000,000 newsletters to sailors world wide, and not suprisingly a host of new sailing oriented advertisers large and small are joining our ranks.

This week on Marine Business News we introduce another of our new advertisers, a global technical clothing company that is based 'down under' and has a very unusual name ZHIK.

Remember, our site is updated each and every day with breaking news and in-depth reports and features, now read by more than 20,000 subscribers and visitors worldwide each week.

This week, as the online consumer traffic grows, we've split our Sail-World UK-Europe site into two separate sites Sail-World UK and Sail-World Europe & Africa.

As our traffic increases across our whole family of sites, we have been investing in bigger and faster servers and have added more stories to all our sites front pages world wide world wide. From next week, this will provides more brand impact as each advertiser's ad banners are on view for longer.

Please continue to send us your industry news, views and suggestions, remember you can load text and images from the front of Marine Business News (top right hand corner.) .

Looking forward to bumping into many of you in Sydney in a few weeks time!
