Lake Macquarie brokerage buoyed by success
|
If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can’t, you’re right… If there’s merit in that old motivational slogan then Buyaboat at Marks Point Marina on Lake Macquarie, NSW, is the brokerage that thinks it can. Tony Chodyko, who started the business just over two years ago, claims it's now the largest used-boat broker in NSW in terms of listings. What’s more, it’s 'the third largest in Australia'. Chodyko exploits internet technology to the hilt, being a pioneer of virtual video tours. His staff also try to get running shots of every vessel. It makes it easier to shop from your study chair. 'We’ve had 54,800 unique views since February this year – that’s a football stadium full of customers,' Chodyko said. 'We move with the times and adopt a fresh attitude towards the industry.' The company employs a full-time social media manager to manage its facebook, Twitter and you tube presence and it also maintains an extensive database. There are three new Honda-powered workboats on the water, allowing outboard buyers a chance to experience the product, not just see it standing mute in a showroom. Chodyko says that more than 40 per cent of the boats they sell go to other waterways. More details phone 1800 985 911. The office is open seven days a week. Buyabout website
