It’s not too late to get organized for SIBS. For six exciting days, July 31 to August 5, Darling Harbour will become the headquarters of the Australian boating industry when the 2008 Sydney International Boat Show immerses the city in boats and marine paraphernalia. More than 300 exhibitors comprising the major boat manufacturers, engine distributors, marine electronics specialists, marine retailers and other industry sectors will pack the 28,000 square metres of the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre with millions of dollars worth of product. On adjoining Cockle Bay, the largest marina (more than 800m in length) ever assembled specifically for an Australian boat show will be home to 300 or more luxury craft, ranging from runabouts and sport fishing rigs through to luxury mega yachts with multi-million dollar price tags. In addition, the show offers an array of entertainment, with the Yamaha Fishing Clinic expected to again play to standing room-only audiences, daily fashion parades featuring the latest in nautically-inspired sportswear and the Strictly Sail and Better Boating stage with a line-up of interesting and informative guest presenters covering a whole host of subjects. Many of the nation’s leading boat builders will be launching new vessels not seen before on NSW waterways.
