Momentum is building for Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) 2013, with the third annual Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) to be held at the InterContinental Hotel Sanctuary Cove (previously Hyatt Regency) in the days leading up to the bumper four-day boat show.

It’s the third year Sanctuary Cove has played host to the two-day marine industry conference, which has emerged as the key annual meeting for the marine export and superyacht industry in Australia.

Australian International Marine Export Group and Superyacht Australia operations manager Victoria Smith, who is coordinating the event, said this year’s meeting would be the biggest yet.

'Previously the event has been held at The Village Theatre, but predicted growth and interest will see next year’s conference move to the onsite hotel,' she said.

'It’s a valuable networking opportunity for the industry in the lead-up to SCIBS and yet another attraction for marine industry personnel over the period.'

Sanctuary Cove general manager for marketing and events Sue Thomson said the industry gathering was a well-timed opportunity, wrapping up the day before the Boat Show commences.

'It’s a very timely industry meeting in the lead-up to SCIBS, which brings the biggest boating names from across the country and overseas to Sanctuary Cove,' she said.

'There will certainly be a great energy here with final Boat Show preparations and the conference amplifying the SCIBS hype.'

The conference will incorporate presentations from international delegates, a gala dinner and presentation of the 2013 Club Marine Australian Marine Industry Export and Superyacht Awards.

The event program will run from May 20 to 22 with a welcome cocktail party on the first evening.

SCIBS exhibitors, AIMEX members and Superyacht Australia members are encouraged to attend with a discounted registration fee of $285, with bookings available for non-members for $395.
