The Australian International Marine Export Group and Superyacht Australia are again set to host the annual Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX), this is the key international conference for the marine export and superyacht industries in Australia.

2013 will be the third edition promising even bigger and better outcomes and opportunities for delegates. The informative conference, which spans over May 21-22 will again maintain significant international presence. The 2012 conference enjoyed a broad cross section of stakeholders, 20% of which were international.

A post conference survey of ASMEX 2012 had an overwhelming response of attendees who would recommend the conference to others.

'A key focus for many visitors to the Australian stand at the recent Monaco Yacht Show was wanting to learn more about Australia and more about the profile of Australians buying superyachts, with many looking to attend ASMEX in 2013. The new edition of Great Southern Route publication (GSR) being launched in Monaco put further focus on Australia as a cruising destination,' said Victoria Smith, AIMEX Operations Manager.

A key focus for conference organisers is to ensure that delegates are well informed regarding the solutions and opportunities for businesses in the current economic climate as well as providing outstanding networking opportunities to do business. Another area paramount to ASMEX organisers is ensuring that registration fees are at a level accessible across the industry at just $285 for members, inclusive of the entire social programme. This is amazing value and shows that the conference organisers truly understand the economic climate and want to allow everyone in the industry the opportunity to be involved.

Highlights of the 2012 conference included a strong line-up of speakers including international speaker Thom Dammrich, President of NMMA who inspired delegates with the initiatives and growth of the marine industry in the US as a result of some key marketing strategies and focus areas. Also making an impact throughout the conference were AIMEX President Alistair Murray who talked about the issues with manufacturing and the suggested solutions provided to the Prime Ministers Task Force for Manufacturing and Erwin Bamps, Gulf Craft COO who highlighted how imperative brand is to business success.

Pacific Editor of the Superyacht Report Ellie Brade stated 'ASMEX 2012 gave me invaluable insight into the Australian superyacht industry and I would highly recommend the conference. It presented an ideal balance of networking opportunities, information on key topics affecting Australia, and valuable analysis and discussion on the state of the global and Australian superyacht industries.'

The two day event will bring together key industry stakeholders: boat builders, Captains, owners, service providers and marine industry manufacturers. A key focus of the superyacht and marine export industry is promoting Australia as a key cruising destination, highlighting the excellent refit and repair services plus the wide range of quality superyacht, commercial and leisure boating products and services available in the Australian market.

ASMEX is the key Australian marine industry conference and provides a platform to ensure industry representatives are well informed and given the opportunity to network with colleagues. The conference is set to be further more engaging and interactive than ASMEX attendees have seen previously. The invaluable networking opportunities will be further enhanced by an increased social programme.
